Dispatch center

Dispatch center is equipped with central computer containing database server and main system modules. On the central computer or on separated dispatcher workstations (in quantity according to fleet size) runs dispatcher software - modules: voice control, digital map, lines view, hardware monitor. Computer controlled units for audio communication are placed near dispatcher workstations.

Features:
  • current and past information about entire transport network,
  • current and past information about every vehicle (status, localization, deviations from time table)
  • current and past information about movement breakdowns, accidents and malfunctions
  • graphic presentation of a vehicle location on a map
  • receiving reported alarms,
  • two-way audio communication with a driver,
  • audio and text messages to selected group of vehicles,
  • reports generation,
  • statistical analysis tools.

Vehicle equipment

Each vehicle is equipped with system on-board computer combined with radio, ensuring comfortable work conditions and security for a driver. Integrated display presents current information for a driver: time, deviation from time table and other text messages, while microphone and speaker allow to talk with a dispatcher.

Depending on the choice of additional functional modules, the vehicle can also be equipped with passenger counting sensors, LED/LCD boards displaying passenger information (e.g. route) inside and outside the vehicle or traffic light priority transmitter.

Features:
  • audio communication with the dispatch center (on demand),
  • sending emergency alerts to the dispatch center,
  • automatic vehicle location by the GPS system and by other verifying information,
  • automatically counting timetable deviations and sending it to the dispatch center,
  • displaying current time, current timetable deviations and messages from the dispatch center,
  • automatic data transmission between vehicle and a depot data system during arriving and leaving
  • storing defined events in internal memory,
  • possibility of controlling vehicle's other appliances (eg. traffic light priority transmitter, video recorder, passenger counting sensors).

Communication

Communication network between vehicle on-board computers and the dispatch center is chosen depending on requirements and constraints, such as: required data transfer, delays, extent of area. It is possible to use conventional analog networks or modern digital systems. In all cases on-board computers and the network in the dispatch center are equipped with needed interfaces to work with analog/digital radio or GSM module.

Depot

Local wireless system allowing communication with vehicles can be installed in every depot. The depot system uses short range WLAN communication (Wi-Fi). The depot system is a proxy in data exchange between vehicles and the dispatch center. It allows sending all needed data to the vehicle while leaving the depot. For example it can be information about current lines and brigades, time tables with routes or software updates. After arriving back, the system automatically receives all collected data from the on-board computers.
